I consider my job as a ✨professional BuzzFeed writer✨ to be a pretty freakin' cool job. Like, I get to yap on the internet all day about topics ranging from ancient history to Shrek — who else can say that? BUT, of course, there are tons of jobs out there that are more astonishing than mine...and they're always a blast to learn about.
So recently, we asked the BuzzFeed Community, "What's the coolest job you've ever heard of?" and people replied with the most jaw-dropping, mind-boggling careers that actually exist. Yes, all of these are LEGIT jobs that REAL PEOPLE have.
So for your daily dose of joy and inspiration, let's go over what people said:
1. "Amenities tester. You travel to all kinds of spas and resorts, testing out their amenities. Pools, saunas, room service, massages, toiletries, complimentary food and beverage, concierge services, laundry and dry cleaning services — anything and everything you can think of. The most extravagant pampering, AND THEY PAY YOU TO DO IT!!!!"
2. "Jeopardy! clue writer. I'd rock that one!"
3. "Professional sleeper! They just sleep and get paid!"
4. "I was a chocolate maker. It was as good as it sounds. I shouldn't have given it up."
5. And similarly: "Chocolate taster. Husband of a friend of a friend, he quit that job after 8 years because he got sick of the taste of chocolate. I find that extremely hard to believe, but he swore it was true."
6. "Nail polish namer. I actually contacted Revlon to see what job that was, I was told it's a product development specialist."

"Yes. I've always thought being that or an audiobook narrator would be so cool."
9. "I know someone who crafts speciality cocktails for private jet guests. So she meets a bunch of celebs, makes drinks based on their tastes or themed to their work, and gets paid to travel the world. She always made it sound exhilarating!"

11. "When I was in special effects makeup school in Burbank, I always found working in prosthetic production labs to be fascinating. We had a lab class where we designed, sculpted, and made prosthetics. It was so fun."

Documentaries of exotic vehicle manufacturers like Bugatti always suck me in. The facilities are so gorgeous and purpose-built. The workers have time and appreciation for their skills. Building the engine, applying the seat and interior materials, painting, etc. Can't imagine having a job that satisfying."
